How late can a player enter the court?
No show is a situation when one of the tennis players does not arrive at the appointed time for the start of the match. In such cases, an athlete who has violated the regulations shall be counted as a technical defeat. They automatically leave the tournament.
- Go to a bookmaker and place your bets right now.
The Player’s Code of Conduct indicates a valid late time. Opponent, spectators and referees are waiting for the tennis player for about 15 minutes. After that, the chief judge may decide on the technical defeat of the absent athlete.
The waiting player has three options:
- Wait for the opponent. We consider this the best option if the player is not excessively late. Traffic and other considerations should be taken into account. If a player agrees to wait and play the match, the match will stand as played. If players agree to reschedule the match for a later time, the match must be played.
- Play a sub (within the proper time period).
- Report a default and receive 12 points.
