Left service court
How to understand the “left service court”?
How is the left service court called?
What characterizes the left service court in tennis?
The left side of the tennis court is called the ad court and it’s divided by the center service line and center mark at the baseline.
Players use the term ad court to refer to the left side of the court.
When you face the net, your ad court is the left side of the court. Similarly, when your opponent faces the net, their ad court is to their left. That means if you serve or hit the ball to your opponent’s ad court, you’re hitting across the net to the right side of the court.
The center service line and center mark separate the ad court from the deuce court, which is the right side of the court.
A player serving from the ad court would position themselves to the left of the center mark, and their opponent would stand diagonally across the court in their ad court.
