Construction
The Lokomotiv stadium was built in record time. Active work began in 2000, and two years later the first official match took place in the new arena. Railway workers took Uralan from Elista as part of the Russian football championship. The match ended in a minimal victory for the hosts 1-0.
A football stadium in this territory began to be built in the early 30s of the last century. For a long time the field bore the name “Stalinets” and was the home arena for many teams in the capital. In the 60s, the Lokomotiv stadium was opened, which has already become a full-fledged home for the football team of the same name. However, at different time intervals in the same field home matches were played by Moscow Spartak players.

In 2000, a project was launched for a new stadium for railway workers. Construction did not take much time, and already in 2002 the facility was commissioned. In 2017, reconstruction was carried out: four new displays were installed, chairs were replaced (under club colors), and the number of seats was reduced. In the same year, the stadium was renamed the “RZD Arena”.
