Seating plan of Broadhall Way

West Stand

The West Stand is an all-seater stand, which holds 1,800 fans as well as housing executive hospitality boxes, press areas, tunnel and, of course, changing rooms. The club shop and ticket office are also located on the outside of this stand.

The family section of the West Stand is located towards the north end of this stand. Close to the turnstiles, tear bar and toilets, these seats offer a great view and are perfect if you’d like to bring your youngsters along for the first time.

North Stand

In July 2017, the Club asked fans to contribute towards a mini-bond investment scheme, through sports investment platform Tifosy, in an attempt to fund the remaining £500,000 needed to go towards developing the new North Stand. Five weeks after the campaign started, the £500,000 target was met after investment from over 200 fans. A further £100,000 was raised in the following days, meaning a total of £600,000 would be invested in the new North Stand development. The North Terrace was demolished in January 2018. The 1,428 all-seater stand was officially opened in December 2019.

East Terrace

Running the full length of the pitch, the East Terrace can hold approximately 2,700 standing spectators. Offering a real distinctive atmosphere, the East Terrace is home to some of more vocal fans who lead the singing, dancing and banging of drums. It also houses the TV gantry so if you’re watching highlights, you’ll see the action from this same view.

As well as catering and toilet facilities, this stand also has access to the Corner Bar, which allows fans in the East Terrace the opportunity to buy an alcoholic drink before the game or at half time.

South Stand

The South Stand is allocated to visiting away fans.

Built in 2001, this all-seated stand is behind the goal at the south end of the ground and has a capacity of 1,390.

Catering and toilet facilities are available to away fans underneath this stand however no alcohol is available to visiting away fans inside the ground. On the vast majority of fixtures, away fans are welcome in our Broadhall Suite bar pre-match. This is located in the south-east corner of the ground, close to the away turnstiles, doors open at midday (6pm for Tuesday night games) and the early Premier League kick-off is usually on the TVs. Bar food is usually available too.

Where to buy tickets?

The cost to watch a game at Broadhall Way will vary depending on where in the ground you want to go and whether you buy your tickets in advance or on the day. Your age will also be a factor.

You can get tickets online, in person from the club shop, in person from the ticket office or on turnstiles on the day of the game.

How to get there?

There are 3 ways to get from Stevenage (Station) to Broadhall Way by bus, taxi or foot. You can select an option below.

Directions and Car Parking

Leave the A1(M) at Junction 7 and take the A602 towards Stevenage. Go straight across the first roundabout and as you approach the next roundabout, you can see the floodlights of the ground over on the right. However, if you go straight across the roundabout then you will see the entrance to a large car park on your left (called Fairlands Valley), which is free to park in and has a capacity of around 500 cars. The car park though has only one entrance/exit, so this can lead to bit of a bottleneck after the game has finished.

Avoid parking at the nearby Roaring Meg Retail Park on Saturday and midweek matchdays, as you are only allowed to park there for 90 minutes. Staying longer could see you with a £100 parking ticket. Otherwise, there is street parking to be found in the local area.

Train

Stevenage Railway Station is about one mile away from the Lamex Stadium. Leave the station booking hall and turn left towards the town. Take the stairs on the right before the bridge over the dual carriage way and head along the A602, Lytton Way. At the roundabout, which has the police station on the right, take the second exit into Six Hills Way. At the next roundabout, take the third exit (South) continuing along the A602, Monkswood Way, passing a large Asda store on your right. After about 3/4’s mile (McDonalds/Burger King etc. will be on your right) you will arrive at a roundabout and the Lamex Stadium will be opposite you on the other side of the A602.

Bus

There is a shuttle bus service operated by Arriva Buses on matchdays that runs on a loop covering Stevenage Bus Station, Railway Station (Stop N) and the Lamex Stadium. The bus stop for the ground is on Broadhall Way opposite the entrance for the North Stand.

In addition, you can also get the Arriva No.5 Bus from Stevenage Town Centre to the ground, from Stop E at Stevenage Bus Station. It’s the ten-minute journey. As the ground is not easily spotted in the distance, ask the driver to drop you off on Monkswood Way, opposite the entrance to the retail park.

Taxi

A taxi from the railway station to the ground will cost £5 and take just over five minutes.

Where to eat and sleep?

There are a good number of hotels in Stevenage, here are some to consider.

  1. ibis Stevenage Centre. In the centre of Stevenage is this member of the ibis chain of hotels. It’s got a restaurant, a bar, the ability to do your laundry and, of course, free Wi-Fi for you to enjoy.
  2. Holiday Inn Stevenage. It’s another chain hotel but if you want to be close to the stadium then it’s a great shout. It’s a 15 minute walk away and has free Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and breakfast.
  3. Novotel Stevenage. If you do like chain hotels, however, but don’t fancy the ibis then this Novotel might tickle your fancy. There’s restaurant, a bar, seven meeting rooms, a garden and a conference space as well as free parking and free Wi-Fi.

Looking for a place to get yourself in the mood to enjoy the game? One of these should do the trick.

  1. The Broadhall Suite. Located in the stadium itself is this area that is welcoming of both home and away supporters. It’s used as one of the club’s hospitality suites, so you know you’re going to be in a nice place that serves decent food and the usual drinks.
  2. Best Western Roebuck Inn. This pub is actually part of the Best Western’s hotel that is near the ground, so expect to see some non-football supporters who don’t know what’s going on here. The food’s decent, though, and they serve some real ales so it’s worth a visit.
  3. Our Mutual Friend. A pub with lots of outdoor space, a pool table, dart board, real ales and even live music. This characterful boozer is always busy and especially on match days it should have a great atmosphere.

Facilities

For a lower league club Stevenage’s facilities are decent. You can get good food and drink at a reasonable price and the toilets are kept clean etc. A nice stadium for families especially.

Enjoy a pre-match meal or buffet in the Bennington Suite or hire an executive box, which has the ability to house up to ten guests. Either way you will enjoy some good food, a complimentary match program, and comfortable surroundings.

The Broadhall Suite can house up to 150 guests, whilst other places in the ground can also be hired for events such as conferences, parties, anniversaries and even wedding receptions. They even offer to sort out the DJ and balloons for you if you should want them.

History

Broadhall Way hosted Stevenage Town and Stevenage Athletic before Stevenage Borough moved in in 1976. From 1973 until ’76 it had been unused, with Athletic’s financial difficulties meaning it stood empty for some time. The newly formed Borough were hoping to hold a curtain raiser there against Hitchin Town Youth, only for the ex-chairman of Stevenage Athletic to spoil their plans by digging a trench across the length of the pitch.

In the early part of the Noughties the ground underwent significant change, with a new stand costing £600,000 being opened. A £5 million training facility was also opened not far from the stadium, and in 2012 The West Stand was also refurbished in order to expand the car park and extend the entrance to the lucrative executive boxes that are located in the stand.
