Seating plan of Brisbane Road

Justin Edinburgh Stand

The Justin Edinburgh Stand is the new main stand at Brisbane Road and seats home supporters only. It has a capacity of 2,918, with 23 disabled supporters and their helpers. The letters L O F C are marked out amongst the seats in black. It also houses the club’s administrative offices, and the club shop and main ticket office are at the back of this stand. There is also a row of executive seating (the Directors’ Balcony) above the main seating, which overhangs the rest of the stand, and the Olympic Suite, which offers corporate hospitality. This stand also has premium seating (with its own bar) in its centre, known as the Gallery. It has two refreshment outlets at either end underneath the stand and it is accessed by turnstiles at either end via Oliver Road, or via the main reception for Gallery members and Olympic Suite diners.

The players’ changing rooms are also located underneath this stand and players emerge from the tunnel here. The dugouts are located at the front of the stand.

East Stand

The East Stand is the oldest stand at Brisbane Road. The East Stand, which at the time included the club’s offices and dressing rooms, then remained largely unaltered until 1999, when the narrow section of terracing at the front of the structure was made all-seater.

The stand is used by both home and away supporters; when an away team is allocated the entire stand for safety or other reasons, Orient fans in the North half of the stand are required to move elsewhere to accommodate the extra away fans. The capacity of the Northern end of this stand is 2,133 and the Southern end is 1,459. There are also executive seats in the middle of the stand (the old directors’ box, now known as the Wyvern Suite) but these are not ordinarily used by any supporters.

  • East Stand North: 2,133 with 15 disabled supporters and their helpers;
  • East Stand South (away): 1,459 with seven disabled supporters and their helpers.

The Qualiteach Community Stand

The North Stand is used as a family stand. It replaces a former open terrace, has a capacity of 1,351 with provision for 15 disabled supporters and their helpers, and has the letters L O F C marked into the seats in black. Access to this stand is by turnstiles at each end of the stand and there are two refreshment outlets located underneath the stand.

Tommy Johnston South Stand

This stand is for home supporters only and has a capacity of 1,336. It has a refreshment outlet and a bar underneath the stand and is accessed through turnstiles from Buckingham Road. It has the word ORIENT marked into the seats in white. A large block of flats backs on to the stand.

Where to buy tickets?

The ticket prices at Brisbane Road range depending on your age and where you want to sit. You can get the cheapest tickets by booking in advance rather than leaving it to match day, when it will cost you £2 extra per ticket.

Tickets are available over the phone, online or by dropping into the O’s ticket office in person.

How to get there?

Leyton Orient FC play at their Brisbane Road football ground in East London. Find out how to get there by car or tube, with this handy away fans guide.

Train

The nearest tube station is Leyton (about a 1/4 of a mile away), which is on the Central Line. Come out of the station and turn right down Leyton High Road. Cross over the road to the other side and continue down it. You will come to Coronation Gardens on your left and the floodlights of the ground can be clearly seen behind them. Take the next left past the gardens into Buckingham Road for the ground.

Leyton Tube Station is less than a mile away from the ground, with Leyton Midland Station the same sort of distance but available to overground trains.

Bus

Bus numbers 58, 69, 97 and 158 all run along Leyton High Road regularly.

Car

Leave the M25 at Junction 27 and take the M11 towards London. At the end of the motorway keep in the right-hand lane and follow the signs for the North Circular A406 (W). At the bottom of the flyover where the roads merge, move into the left-hand lane for the A104. At the roundabout turn left onto the A104 towards Leytonstone. After about 1 mile at the next roundabout take the second exit continuing on the A104 towards Walthamstow & Leyton. Half a mile further on, turn left at the traffic lights into Leyton Green Road (signposted to Leyton Leisure Lagoon & Lea Valley Sports).

Continue along this road and as you reach a large elevated block of flats on your right turn left into a short slip road that runs past the bus garage and then left into Leyton High Road (you’ll see the Leyton Leisure Lagoon in front of you as you wait to make the turn). Continue along Leyton High Road passing the Leyton Midland Road overground station. After passing a Jet Garage and as the High Road bears around to the left then the ground is beyond the High Road to the right. So take the most suitable right-hand turn (as some have vehicle restrictions) and they will take you down towards the stadium.

Taxi

From Leyton Station to the ground will take less than five minutes in a taxi and cost about £5.

Parking

Street Parking, although beware of a Residents Only Zone in the streets around the ground, check signposts for any restriction information. There is also the option of renting a private driveway near in the local area via YourParkingSpace.co.uk.

Where to eat and sleep?

You aren’t going to struggle for options for somewhere to stay in London. Here are a few who will be more than happy to take your money.

  1. The Stratford Hotel. It’s a little pricey but unless you want to stay in a hovel you’re going to have to pay for it – this is London after all. The Stratford Hotel is absolutely beautiful though, and comes with a gym, free Wi-Fi, restaurant and bar, 24/7 desk, and even room service.
  2. Epsilon Hotel. Located a mile and a half away from the ground in nearby Stratford is this 3-star hotel that promises 38 guest rooms and multilingual staff. There’s also Wi-Fi available and a free continental breakfast.
  3. Lion & Key Hotel. Brisbane Road Stadium is less than half a mile from this hotel that, as the name suggests, is above a pub. It’s conveniently located not only for the O’s home ground but also Stratford shopping centre and the Olympic Park.

Once again, it’s London so you are spoiled for choice really. Lucky for you then we have picked out a few choice possibilities for a swift one before the game.

  1. Coach & Horses. The Coach & Horses is just a short walk from the ground and is a cozy, friendly pub with a welcoming atmosphere. It also hosts Blues nights on a regular basis, and what can be more fun that that?
  2. Leyton Technical Pub. Located in the old town hall and just a short walk from Leyton Underground Station is this restored beauty of a pub that serves real ale and delicious food. Dogs are allowed in the bar area, too.
  3. King William IV Bar and Hotel. This is a classic East End pub in the best sense of the phrase. With its own brewery that serves its own real ale, this place also has a beer garden and TVs for live sport.

Facilities

Things are in pretty decent nick at Brisbane Road, and there is a good selection of food and drink on offer too.

The O’s match day hospitality package offers a three-course meal before the game in the 1881 Suite, the opportunity to watch an interview with a player, gallery seating in The West Stand and refreshments at both half-time and full-time.

Alternatively, the Directors Lounge gives you access to the club directors themselves, as well as all of the above plus inclusive drinks and the opportunity to see the Man of the Match presentation.

If you have a large group and want some privacy, you could always go for the Boardroom VIP package, which gets you the actual boardroom for the day complete with a two-course meal, welcome drinks, and a professional picture to keep as a memento.

With a brilliant view of the Docklands and the City of London, Brisbane Road Stadium is an excellent place to go for your conferencing and event hire needs. There are four pitch-facing suites and a large boardroom, meaning the home of the O’s is suitable for events for anywhere from five people to three hundred people. There is a dedicated events team, who will tailor a package to suit your exact requirements.

Accessibility

Wheelchair users can be housed in the Justin Edinburgh, South and East stands (with the East Stand available to away supporters).

Step free access is available for the disabled supporter and their carer. Ambulant disabled supporters can be accommodated in all areas of the ground.

At present, disabled supporters (wheelchair users and ambulant) are admitted in to The Breyer Group Stadium at the appropriate paying rate and if needed, a helper is admitted free of charge.

Tickets should be booked in advance with the ticket office or by email. The breakdown of seating in each stand is as follows:

  • Justin Edinburgh West Stand – 23 wheelchair spaces & 23 carers;
  • Qualiteach Community Stand (North) – 16 wheelchair spaces & 16 carers;
  • GI Print East Stand – 22 wheelchair spaces & 22 carers (when the East Stand is given over in full to visiting supporters, all 22 wheelchair spaces are allocated, however, when open to both home and away supporters, there are 15 spaces for home supporters and seven for away supporters.)

The Club unfortunately has limited parking facilities for both disabled and non-disabled supporters. Three dedicated disabled spaces can be allocated within the stadium.

There is also street parking with marked disabled bays in Brisbane Road, which are taken on a first come first served basis. These are not allocated by the Club and must be used by blue badge holders with the badges displayed at all times to avoid parking contraventions.

Guide dogs are admitted to the stadium with visually impaired supporters and arrangements can be made.

Leyton Orient Football Club fully supports the principle of equal opportunities and opposes all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of disability.

History

Brisbane Road became the home of Leyton Orient when they moved to the Leyton district of Essex in 1937. Before that, it had hosted the games of amateur team Leyton FC. It has undergone numerous cosmetic changes over the years. The West Stand was converted into all-seating in 1978, for example, with The South Stand getting demolished in 1996 and nothing built to replace it until 1999.

As well as hosting Leyton Orient’s matches and the games of Tottenham Hotspur’s Reserve team, Brisbane Road has had several other uses over the years. In 2008, for example, the final of the FA Women’s Premier League Cup was held at the ground. It has also hosted numerous England Under 16 games and matches of the England Women’s Team.
