Receiving yards per game
In American football, receiving yards per game refers to the average amount of yards a player earns via receiving (catching) the ball in a particular game. It is a metric to assess a player’s passing game production and influence.
When a player successfully receives a throw from the quarterback and moves the ball forward before being tackled or going out of bounds, receiving yards are accumulated. A game’s total receiving yards is computed by adding the yards earned on each completed reception.
Receiving yards per game are computed by dividing a player’s total receiving yards in a certain period (such as a season or a set number of games) by the number of games played during that period. This metric reveals how regularly a player contributes to their team’s passing offence and their ability to create huge plays down the field.
