The league year is a period of contests and championship battles. It has the same length as any other year, but the start date floats. NFL league year starts on the first Thursday of September. Sometimes the Committee moves it to the next business day or next week. These cases are up to date on occasions like national security threats, holidays or epidemic situation.
Each league year is subdivided into periods. The most sustained is regular season. It lasts about 4 months or 17 weeks. NCAA season continues to January or February. The next period is the playoff. NFL playoff continues in January and February. High school and college leagues have March Madness in spring. And the final match is the Super Bowl champion’s battle.
Spring and summer months are the midseason period. This helps the scouts and managers to find the talented school or university graduates and prepare them for the next season. Sometimes the teams practice in friendly or international matches to promote this dramatic sport. But 2020 changed the situation dramatically. Each following year will be unpredictable.
