What is history of huddles?
The huddle is a multi-sport term. It means a circle from players. There are three types of huddles. A pre-game has the motivating and uniting task. If the team huddled during the match, it receives valuable instructions from the quarterback. The team doesn’t want the defense to read its plans. The final huddle helps the team to pour emotions – celebrating the victory or desperate.
Huddles appeared at the 1870s. The first team who used it was Oregon Agricultural College. Their coach Bill Hargiss instructed the starters to stand around the ball 10 yards from their competitors and discuss their actions. Some quarterbacks use huddles for the snap count to instruct about the responsibilities during the play.
