Overthrow
What is overthrow in baseball?
The overthrow has different meanings in baseball. It may relate to the pitcher, hitter, or flying ball—for example, any ball flying over the heads of the players and sails off the field. Or the pitcher has problems with control and often overthrows the ball. As a result, it flies very far, and the hitter can’t reach it. The fielder can throw the ball too high. It’s risky because the runner or batter has minimal risk of coming out without a tag.
