Long reliever
Who is long reliever in baseball?
The long reliever is the pitcher who substitutes the starter very early. Usually, it happens in the first three innings. The reasons are long series, challenging games for the pitching team, or injury. This pitcher expects to pitch enough time to save their colleagues in the bullpen. Sometimes the long reliever starts the game if the starter has been injured or can’t play for any other reason.
