Camping
In baseball, “camping” refers to a circumstance in which a fielder, typically an outfielder, has moved under a fly ball and can catch it easily. The term “camping” under a fly ball refers to a situation in which a player has successfully monitored the ball’s trajectory, positioned himself appropriately, and is waiting comfortably for the ball to fall into their glove. In the context of catching the ball, this expression conveys a sense of self-assurance and ease, as if the player had all the time in the world to make the catch, which is analogous to the relaxed pace of camping outside.
