Bases loaded
When all the bases in baseball have runners on them, it means that players are standing on first, second, and third base all at once. This situation is really interesting because the team that’s up to bat has a chance to score a lot of points, but the team that’s playing defense has an excellent chance to get two outs in one play. Something interesting can happen when all the bases are filled up with players. The defense can get an out at any base, even at home plate. When runners are on second and third base, the batter is sometimes intentionally walked to help the team. When the batter hits a single, it can lead to at least two runs being scored. So, when does a batter hit the ball really far and manage to touch all the bases? Well, if that happens when other players already occupy all the bases, it’s called a grand slam. And guess what? It’s the most exciting play in baseball because it scores a whopping four runs in one go!
